Marian's preferred supplier partner, 3M™, recently announced a new low VOC adhesive [transfer tape](https://marianinc.com/materials/tapes-adhesives/) for[automotive interior components](https://marianinc.com/automotive-interior-solutions/).

The new tape, [3M™ Low VOC Adhesive Transfer Tape 59812LVC](https://marianinc.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/3M-Low-VOC-Adhesive-Transfer-Tape-59812LVC.pdf), adheres to difficult to bond substrates like low surface energy plastics, metals, fabrics, and foams, while still providing a clean aesthetic. The tape easily conforms to curves and can bond dissimilar materials after exposure to 100 °F (38 °C). It also offers short term temperature resistance up to 300 °F (149 °C) and long-term resistance up to 250 °F (121 °C) with 100% humidity.

## What is VOC?

VOC, or Volatile Organic Compounds, are gasses emitted over time from human-made products containing chemicals. In addition to fogging windows and producing an odor, VOCs have potential to cause short-term and long-term adverse health effects. These natural chemical emissions are often referred to as 'outgassing' or 'off-gassing'.
