NEW 3M™ Electrically Conductive Tapes for EMI/RFI Solutions

EMI and RFI materials play an important role in preventing interference to devices with electronic components, and as technology continues advancing, the materials used in these applications must also support these advancements.

The Electronics Materials Division at 3M™ introduced three innovative electrically conductive tapes:

  • 3M tape 5113SFT-50
  • 3M tape 5113DFT-50
  • 3M tape 1050TC-25
These additions enhance 3M's already impressive lineup of electrically conductive tapes, introducing notable features and improvements to their current product offerings.

3M™ Electrically Conductive Tape 5113 Series3M 5113SFT-50 and 3M 5113DFT-50 banne

3M™ Electrically Conductive Single-Sided Tape 5113SFT is an XYZ-axis single-sided fabric tape (SFT) consisting of a conductive matrix carrier and 3M’s innovative new conductive polyolefin PSA. 

3M™ Electrically Conductive Double-Sided Tape 5113DFT is an XYZ-axis double-sided fabric tape (DFT) consisting of a conductive matrix carrier and 3M’s innovative new conductive polyolefin PSA.

Both 5113SFT and 5113DFT have a base of 3M’s new proprietary polyolefin conductive adhesive and provide a premium performance including high adhesion, low electrical resistance, a longer shelf life, improved temperature resistance, and excellent grounding and shielding performance.

3M Electrically Conductive Single-Sided Tape 1050TC Series

3M™ Electrically Conductive Single-Sided Tape 1050TC is an XYZ-axis electrically conductive pressure sensitive adhesive (CPSA) tape that helps enable devices to meet electromagnetic compatibility requirements.

It consists of a conductive copper foil backing, conductive acrylic adhesive layer and a polyester (PET) release liner. This 3M copper tape provides excellent XYZ-axis-based conductivity, reliable contacts to small-size grounding areas, and excellent EMI shielding and electrical reliability over time. The thin product construction is ideal for applications with less Z-space. It offers high adhesion for a one-sided thin tape, and good grounding performance to many surface types.
