Keep reading to learn more about a customer that manufactures and refurbishes beverage and vending machines and how they incorporated Marian custom die-cut components to improve the machines for a consistent user experience.
Marian's customer that manufactures and refurbishes beverage and snack vending machines had been evaluating different types of fastening systems for their new and refurbished beverage buttons. They were looking for a fastening system that would:
• Look aesthetically clean
• Perform well in extreme conditions (-40°F to 140°F) because machines could possibly be used in outdoor settings

Marian's Custom Die-Cut Solution
Marian proposed 3M™ 4945 VHB™, an acrylic foam tape, for the beverage buttons. After discussions with the customer and our engineering team, the solution we proposed was strips of tape. Choosing die-cut strips over the traditional rivets and screws fastening system would perform well in a variety of temperatures and conditions and was easier to install.
The 3M™ VHB™ strips were cut leaving a space between each part so that they did not “grow” back together, a common problem that can be experience when die cutting adhesive materials.

• The strips were cut precisely to an exact length for easy application so the material wouldn't need additional handling during assembly
